The Mazda MX-5 Miata is back with an entirely new image and we can’t wait to get our hands on one! Over the years, the Mazda MX-5 Miata has been living proof that “less is more” and, after its latest debut, it is clear that Mazda has stuck to this logic. The 2016 model remains compact but boasts a more toned look and improved features. With so many amazing attributes, it’s no surprise that everyone wants a piece of the new 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata.
Exterior
Compared to the 2015 model, the newest generation Mazda MX-5 Miata has transformed to appear much more sporty and muscular. It has lost its round, bubble shape and has slimmed down with a compressed wheel base and lower stature. The vehicle maintains a lighontweight body of 2200 pounds by using an increased amount of aluminum in the front fenders, convertible-top assists, rear bulkhead, and front and rear bumpers. 17-inch wheels and 205/45R-17 tires support the 2016 Mazda MX-5.
Interior
Although the new 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata is more condensed, the interior space is as spacious and comfortable as ever. The two seats can now recline further and have been descended to provide a ½-inch of additional head space. The steering wheel has also reduced in size, giving the driver ample room for pedal usage. Steel springs have been eliminated and replaced with a netted suspension system which allows passengers a much more relaxing ride.
Performance
The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata can now reach 60 mph in 6.3 seconds which is .5 seconds faster than the 2015 model. This is made possible with the use of a SKYACTIV®-G 2.0L DOHC 4-cylinder engine that is capable of 155 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. Riding in the new Mazda MX-5 Miata is smooth with 17-inch wheels and 205/45R-17 tires that secure a wider stance, resulting in better grip and control.
Technology
The new Mazda MX-5 Miata is equipped with the best audio and information technology in its class. With a 7-inch Color Touchscreen Display, the driver maintains complete authority over the vehicle without having to avert his or her eyes from the road. Infotainment System Voice Command and SMS Text Messaging audio delivery and reply keep the user connected with the outside world and the interior of the car. The security technology has also been updated and includes Dynamic Stability Control, Tire Pressure Monitoring, and an Antilock Braking System. No matter how severe the conditions, the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata has your back.
